Weltmusikschule Carl Orff and students from Schulcampus Evershagen in Rostock came to Nykøbing F in Guldborgsund 3-5.6 and visited a.o. CultHus with the culture-houses “Kulturforsyningen” & “Kulturfabrikken”.
At “Kulturfabrikken” they met with Marta Rudnicka from cirkus-association “nyXus”, who provided a workshop with circus-energizers and also gave the students a chance of trying the different equipment of the NGO.
On Tuesday 4th the German group visited CreatLearn-school “Fjordskolen” and met different classes at same age and exchanged information in both German and English language.
1st April started the lock-out, which for 4 weeks closed Danish schools and consequently also made an unforeseen break in our CreatLearn activities.
Just before all this started the trained teachers implemented Forum Theatre workshops themselves after the following timetable:
At Stubbekoebing skole:
Wednesday & Thursday 13. & 14. March:
- 4.class – Heidi, Sara og Tina
- 6. class – Anne og Lidia
At Eskilstrup skole:

- 6.A – Mathias og Jonna
Wednesday & Thursday 13. & 14. March:

- 2.B – Minna og Nina
Arne & Lene 11.3, 18.3 & 19.3.
This was a strong follow-up on the teacher-training part 1 & 2 provided by Gill Dowsett & Theatr Fforwm Cymru in Nov. 2012 + Feb. 2013.
20-21. February Gill Dowsett from Theatr Fforwm Cymru provided part 2 of the teacher-training in Forum Theatre for 20 teachers from Guldborgsund, who during March will make own workshops at Fjordskolen, Eskilstrup- and Stubbekøbing Schools.
Forum Theatre, aka Theatre of the Oppressed, is widely recognised as an excellent tool for working with Human Rights and democracy, but when working with F.T. in a school-contexts you usually meet situations / histories of exclusion and bullying.
As seen from the list below “Forum Theatre must be real”. Forum Theatre is working with stories from real life:
Working with Forum Theatre was a an early stage of CreatLearn chosen by the teachers in Guldborgsund as beeing the primary training-topic and medium during the project, as it is possible for everybody to learn the techniques within a limited amount of time – and since it in an excellent way is fitting into the overall project-theme of “civil courage”.
A compendium / reminder Forum Theatre Training compendium was made from the training in order to remember all the practised exercises, and beyond this Theatr Fforwm Cymru allowed us to copy the DVD from their book “Emotional Intelligence” as well as the small booklet “Just Fun” which is including a long row of exercises and games, which is an important part of the Forum Theatre skills, in order to create a safe, relaxed and positive space.
Beyond these, the “Bible” of Forum Theatre is probably the book “Games for Actors and Non- Actors” by Augosto Boal, which for the Danish translation is named “Spil” and is available from Edition “Drama”.
In September all 3 CreatLearn-schools in Guldborgsund Municipality did run workshops of the interactive drama-form Forum Theatre for students age 13-16, and in October 20 teachers from the schools had an intense and very successful first training in this.
Forum Theatre, aka Theatre of the Oppressed, is not a performing drama-form, but takes a starting point in own experiences and is mainly a method for personal and social development and e.g. recognised as an excellent anti-bullying tool.
Gill Dowsett from Theatr Fforwm Cymru in Wales did provide the training, as she already has been working several times in Guldborgsund, and she will also do the second part of the training in 20-21.2.2013 as well as a supervision, follow-up, when the teachers themselves have used their new skills in workshops at neighbour-schools 12-13th March.
We visited a.o. Rövershagen Schule, Schwaan School & Musikschule Carl Orf and spend a wonderful evening together with German teachers and CreatLearn staff.
A very important step for establishing partner-schools from neighbour cities in 2 countries
